The request of the Peruvian delegate was greatly extended, and its foundations surpassed by the delegates of many countries. The architect Martín Noel, delegate of the Government of Ecuador, requested that the Congress of Americanists issue a resolution declaring the city of Cusco, the Archaeological Capital of South America, and asking the Peruvian government to recognize it. The motion was approved without opposition, unanimously, by all the congressmen.
